20/September/2018 – MVC with Ejection – “B” Shift

Incident # 18-06518 – A 29 year old Ridgeway SC woman was critically injured in a single car collision in the 200 block of Bells Hwy at Eddie Chasteen Drive Thursday morning 20-September at 00:53. The eastbound SUV failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a utility pole before overturning in the roadway blocking both eastbound lanes of Bells Hwy. Firefighter-Paramedics found the woman unconscious lying in the roadway approximately ten feet from the automobile. The patient suffered multiple traumatic injuries including a head injury. She was immobilized and quickly treated at the scene, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 9. Walterboro Police Dept is investigating the crash.  

Medic 9, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Walterboro Fire Dept responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
