25/September/2018 – MVC with Ejection – “A” Shift

Incident # 18-06659 – A 34 year old Bamberg man was seriously injured when his pickup truck left the roadway and overturned Tuesday morning 25-September at 07:42. The accident occurred in the 9800 block of Augusta Hwy, east of Powder Horn Road. The east bound pickup truck left the roadway on the west bound side of the road, over corrected and overturned in the woods. The driver was thrown approximately 40 feet into the woods. A witness stopped and rendered aid. Firefighter-Paramedics found the man faced down, semi-conscious in the woods. They began treating his injuries, immobilized him on a long spine board, then placed him in Fire-Rescue Medic 7. He was transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. No medical helicopters could fly due to fog in the area. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 5, Engine 7, Engine 26, Medic 7, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Chief McRoy served as Incident Commander.
