06/October/2018 – MVC with overturned Vehicle – “A” Shift 

Incident # 18-06967 – At 18:59 Saturday evening 06-October, two vehicles collided in the intersection of Bells Hwy (SC Hwy 64) and Lodge Hwy (SC Hwy 217). One van overturned in the intersection blocking two lanes of traffic and a minivan then struck a building on the corner. Engine 23 and Squad 23 arrived to find the transit van on its side. The patient suffered non-life threatening injuries, but was unable to exit the vehicle. The driver of the mini-van was uninjured. Firefighters removed the windshield, then extricated the driver of the transit van using spinal precautions. Fire-Rescue Medic 18 transported the patient to Colleton Medical Center for further treatment. The intersection was partially blocked for about an hour. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Engine 23, Medic 18 and  Squad 23 responded. Capt. Doug Mixson Jr served as Incident Commander.
