20/November/2018 – Multi-vehicle MVC – “A” Shift Incident # 18-08112 – A multi-vehicle accident occurred
in the 11300 block of Jefferies Hwy (US Hwy 15) just south of Canadys
Crossroads at 21:05 Tuesday evening 20-November. Two passenger cars and a
small SUV collided with two vehicles hitting head-on in heavy holiday
traffic. The entire highway was blocked by the cars and debris. Two local
men were injured in separate vehicles, while a Florida family of three,
including a seven year old boy, were hurt in the third car.
Firefighter-Paramedics arrived to find the roadway blocked and began
treating the injured. Two additional Fire-Rescue Ambulances were assigned to
the incident. Crews treated all five patients at the scene and transported
them to Colleton Medical Center. Traffic on Jefferies Highway in the area of
the accident was closed for two hours until the accident could be cleared.
The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Colleton Deputy Sheriff’s
assisted with traffic control. Engine 5, Engine 19, Medic 7, Medic 19, Medic 26,
Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather
served as Incident Commander. |
