07/January/2019 – Shooting Incident – “C” Shift

Incident # 19-00156 – A 36 yr. male received a gun shot wound to the lower abdomen during a domestic dispute in the 200 block of Weiters Street Monday morning 07-January at 04:49. Firefighter-Paramedics responded with Walterboro Police and found the man lying in the front yard. He had been reportedly shot with a high powered rifle. Firefighters quickly treated the man at the scene and requested a medical helicopter, which was not immediately available. Crews then transported him emergent with additional Firefighter-Paramedics on board to assist with care, to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in Fire-Rescue Medic 1. Medic 19 responded to the location and transported an adult female to Colleton Medical Center who suffered non-life threatening traumatic injuries. The Walterboro Police Dept. is investigating the incident.

Medic 1, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
