02/March/2019 – Emergency Services Softball Tournament

The 8th Annual Emergency Services Softball Tournament was held on 02-March-2019 at the Colleton County Recreation Center north of Walterboro. Nine teams participated this year for the tournament which is only open to emergency service and military personnel. The departments participating this year where, Boeing Fire Department, Charleston Fire Department, Colleton County Fire-Rescue, Dorchester County Fire Rescue, Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Hanahan Fire Department, St John’s Fire Department and 2 military teams. One of the military teams from the Charleston Naval Weapons Station took first place in the tournament with St John’s placing second. Nearly $2,200 was raised which will be to split between the Carolina Children’s Charity and the MUSC Burned Children’s Fund. The event was coordinated by Brian Drew and Robert McAlhaney.
