16/March/2019 – SC Paramedic of the Year Award

Local Islandton First Responder, Paramedic Angie Stewart, was named South Carolina Paramedic of the Year for 2019 at the SC EMS Symposium held at Myrtle Beach Saturday 16-March. Stewart edged out many other candidates in the Statewide competition. She works full time at Beaufort County EMS and volunteers with Fire-Rescue in her home community of Islandton. In addition to her regular duties, Angie heads up the Lowcountry FAST Team who provides care and support to other state first responders. She has worked in the emergency medical field for over 20 years. All at Fire-Rescue are proud of her accomplishment.
