12/April/2019 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift Incident # 19-02496 – Firefighters saved a portion of
the structure at 443 Smokey Bear Lane Friday afternoon 12-April. At 15:14,
9-1-1 received a call from a female inside the building advising the
structure was on fire. Firefighter arrived minutes later to find moderate
smoke coming from the building and flames visible from a window. The metal
building was contained a garage and residential living area. The fire
appeared to have started in a utility room of the garage area. Crews
deployed two 1-3/4 handlines and made entry through the front door. They
made an aggressive attack and quickly gained control of the fire saving most
of the living area. The garage portion suffered heavy damage. No injuries
were reported during the incident. Firefighters were on the scene for four
hours. Water supply was handled with Tenders. The fire appears to have
originated in an electrical appliance.
Engine 4, Engine 10, Engine 18, Tender 4, Tender 7,
Tender 15, Tender 23, Tender 18, Tender 29, Medic 7, Medic 18, Battalion 1
and Car 107 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic Brandon Broach served as
Incident Commander. |
