25/April/2019 – Shooting Incident – “C” Shift

Incident # 19-02826 – An adult female was critically injured after being shot in the back Wednesday evening 25-April. At 21:03, 9-1-1 received a report of the shooting incident in the 200 block of Bodison Memorial Drive southwest of Cottageville. Witnesses advised the incident was a result of a domestic dispute. Sheriff’s Deputies and Cottageville Police cleared the scene and Firefighter-Paramedics found the woman lying in the yard with what appeared to be a shotgun wound to the back. The patient was in critical condition and was rapidly treated at the scene. The C.A.R.E. Flight helicopter had already been sent to the area based on the dispatch information and landed in a field near the home. Fire-Rescue Medic 9 transported her to the field, then transferred patient care to the Flight Crew. C.A.R.E. Flight flew the woman to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston where she was taken to surgery. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
