Incident # 19-03035 – A crabber in a small john boat struck an old pile for a former railroad trestle in Mosquito Creek near Bennetts Point Friday afternoon. 9-1-1 received the report of the accident at 12:34 advising the boat was partially submerged and taking on water. The operator was reported to be on one of the piles awaiting rescue. He was not injured. Firefighter-Paramedics responded to the boat landing at B&B Seafood at 15823 Bennetts Point Road to launch Marine 27. A volunteer Firefighter-EMT also responded with a personal boat and a DNR Officer responded with a boat. The caller to 9-1-1 advised that a large boat would not be able to navigate the creek.
