03/August/2019 – Shooting Incident – “B” Shift

Incident # 19-05348 – Three people were shot in a reported drive by shooting in the 100 block of Glover Street Saturday evening 03-August. At 20:59, an off duty Deputy who lives in the area reported over the radio of shots being fired at the location. 9-1-1 immediately began receiving reports of multiple rounds of gunfire in the residential area. The Deputy, other Sheriff’s Office units and City Police were on the scene minutes later. They reported two people, an adult and a child were at the scene with gunshot wounds. A second Fire-Rescue Ambulance was assigned to the incident. Firefighter-Paramedics treated an adult female and a nine year old girl at the scene. Both had wounds to their legs. The adult was transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in Fire-Rescue Medic 19 and the child was transported emergent to the Children’s Trauma Center at MUSC by Fire-Rescue Medic 1. Both patients were in stable condition. A third patient, an adult male, left the scene in a private car before responders arrived. He was treated at Colleton Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The Walterboro Police Dept. is investigating the incident.  

Engine 1, Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
