24/September/2019 – MVC with Air Evac – “C” Shift

Incident # 19-06655 – A adult male was critically injured after he was ejected from a SUV in the 12900 block of Bennetts Point Road Tuesday afternoon 24-September at 13:04. The man’s vehicle suffered a suspected mechanical failure causing the Chevrolet Suburban to lose control and roll over into the marsh. The man was ejected onto the pavement and Firefighter-Paramedics found him lying in the roadway with multiple traumatic injuries and a head injury. He was treated at the scene. A medical helicopter was requested. C.A.R.E. Flight responded, landing in a small field near the scene. The patient was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Engine 21, Medic 6 and Battalion 1 responded. Firefighter James Bryan served as Incident Commander.
