17/November/2019 – High Speed MVC – “C” Shift

Incident # 19-08027 – Two women were injured in a two car head-on collision in the 14500 block of Hendersonville Hwy (US Hwy 17-A) just south of Jonesville Ave. Sunday afternoon 17-November at 16:02. The adult female driver of a Lexus received multiple trauma injuries including a head injury. She was unconscious for a period of time. She was quickly treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics. A medical helicopter was requested, but was not available due to another response. The patient was transported emergent directly to the Trauma Center at MUSC by Fire-Rescue Medic 13. Medic 1 transported the driver of the other vehicle, a Honda Accord, to Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Both lanes of Hendersonville Hwy in the area of the accident were blocked for nearly an hour. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.  

Engine 1, Medic 1, Medic 13, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter-EMT Robert McAlhaney served as Incident Commander.
