08/January/2020 – Mutual Aid Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 20-00176 – At 08:22, Wednesday morning 08-January, Hampton County Fire-Rescue requested personnel to assist with a commercial structure fire at 20 Main Street in the Town of Brunson. Colleton County sent 10 firefighters on the initial request. Approximately an hour later they requested five Tenders to aid in water supply. The requested apparatus was dispatched. Colleton crews joined Hampton County firefighters and Departments from Allendale, Beaufort and Jasper Counties in gaining control of the fire. The business was a commercial laundry and the approx. 15,000 sq. ft. building contained pallets of burning sheets and towels. The business suffered substantial damage. The first reports of the fire occurred two hours prior. Tenders shuttled water from the nearby Town of Fairfax. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Colleton County Tender 4, Tender 13,  Tender 15, Tender 27, Tender 90, Car 109 and Car 118 responded. Hampton County operated the Command Post.
