11/January/2020 – MVC with ejection – “A” Shift

Incident # 20-00249 – A 32 year old White Hall man was severely injured in a single car MVC in the 900 block of Peuifory Road Saturday evening 11-Janaury at 22:01. His vehicle was traveling north on Peuifory Rd when it dropped off of the pavement in a curve. The driver overcorrected, entered the southbound ditch where it struck several trees. The Buick Century spun backwards and struck several more trees before it was propelled into the ditch on the northbound side of the road. The driver was ejected from the car and was found lying in the middle of the roadway. Several residents heard the crash and found the man unconscious. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived a few minutes later and discovered the man suffered multiple traumatic injuries, including a head injury. They treated him at the scene, then transported him emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 19 to the Trauma Center at MUSC. No medical helicopters could fly due to poor weather conditions. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.  

Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Firefighter-EMT Shane Weber served as Incident Commander.
