17/March/2020 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 20-01860 – A residential structure received moderate damage and the family was displaced following a fire in the kitchen Tuesday morning 17-March. The incident occurred at a Browntown Ln residence and reported at 01:40. Engine 13 arrived to find light smoke coming from the single family residential structure. Firefighter-Paramedics found the wall behind the refrigerator burning with flames extending across the ceiling. Crews deployed one 1-3/4 handline and quickly brought the fire under control. Crews checked for extension but the fire was contained to the area of origin. The fire appeared to have been electrical in nature and spread to the wall behind the refrigerator. Units were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours. The building and most of the families belongings were saved.

Engine 1, Engine 8, Engine 13, Tender 1, Tender 8, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 13 and Battalion 1 responded. Captain Jack Wimberly served as Incident Commander.
