21/March/2020 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 20-01972 – A residential structure was heavily damaged in an afternoon fire Saturday 21-March at 16:10. Engine 19 arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the singlewide mobile home at 964 Redtail Court. The fire is thought to have started from an electrical problem and spread under the entire length of the mobile home before Fire-Rescue units arrived. The fire burned up into the walls in several areas and burned into the living room where the fire place was located. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines to the building and removed the underpinning to reach the flames under the mobile home. They also removed the siding in several areas to reach the flames inside the walls and had to remove some flooring. The bottom of the structure received heavy damage, however the interior received little damage and most of the belongings were saved. The home was no longer habitable, so the family was displaced. The Red Cross is assisting the family. Fire units were on the scene for two hours.

Engine 19, Engine 27, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
