14/April/2020 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 20-02548 – An outdoor utility building was destroyed in a late evening fire at 1083 Backfield Road Tuesday 14-April. At 23:56 Fire-Rescue units responded to the location and found the approx. 20x30 foot building fully involved. The roof had already collapsed prior to arrival. Engine 30 laid 300 feet of supply line down the driveway and deployed one 1-3/4 handline to extinguish the fire. Tenders pumped water supply to Engine 30 from the roadway. Crews removed the remainder of the metal roof from the slightly elevated structure and performed overhaul for 1-1/2 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Engine 6, Engine 19, Engine 30, Tender 12, Tender 19, Medic 6, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
