03/June/2020 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 20-03630 – A single story residential dwelling in the 9600 block of Augusta Hwy received moderate damage after a fire occurred in the attic Wednesday evening 03-June. At 20:37, 9-1-1 was notified by the homeowner that there was smoke in the residence. Fire-Rescue units arrived to find light smoke in the living space. The occupant advised a contractor had been working on the home earlier. Crews searched the building using thermal imaging cameras and located a fire in the attic area, including smoldering insulation. Several rafters had been burned through. They pulled the ceiling in one room to reach the burning materials. Firefighters contained the fire in the area of origin saving the home and all of the contents. No one was injured in the fire.

Engine 5, Engine 7, Engine 26, Tender 5, Tender 7, Tender 26, Medic 7, Medic 26 and Battalion 1 responded. Captain Brian Eadon served as Incident Commander.
