10-June-2020 – Auto Pedestrian MVC with Air Evac – “B”
Shift Incident # 20-03807 – A 71 year old Smoaks man was
critically injured after he was struck by a car in the 800 block of Sizemore
Road Wednesday 10-June. The man received multiple traumatic injuries,
including head and facial injuries. The accident was reported at 08:19, but
it is possible the man had been in the ditch for sometime before he was
found. The car that struck him did not stop. Firefighter-Paramedics treated
him at the scene and called for a medical helicopter to respond. CARE Flight
was landed in a nearby field in Johnsville. The man was transferred to the
Flight Crew without incident and flown to a Trauma Center. The SC Highway
Patrol is investigating the accident. Anyone with information regarding the
accident is encouraged to contact the SC Highway Patrol or the Sheriff’s
Office.
