15/July/2020 – MVC with Air Evac – “A” Shift

Incident # 20-04779 – An 53 year old male was critically injured after his moped ran into the back of pickup truck in the 7600 block of Sidneys Road Wednesday afternoon 15-July at 16:29. The man received multiple traumatic injuries including a head injury. He was not wearing a helmet. Firefighter-Paramedics treated him at the scene, then transported him in Fire-Rescue Medic 19 to a nearby field to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. He was transferred to the Flight Crew, then flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Engine 5, Engine 19, Medic 19, Car 105, Car 117 and Car 118 responded. Deputy Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
