20/August/2020 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 20-05714 - A 20 x 30 block storage building was damaged in an afternoon fire during a thunderstorm Thursday afternoon 20-August at 17:55. The resident at 13922 Bells Hwy called 9-1-1 to report that lightning had struck the building and it was ablaze. Engine 18, stationed ½ mile away arrived minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from the one story block structure. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed one handline to extinguish the fire. Most of the fire was contained to the contents of the building which was heavily damaged. No injuries were reported and the structure itself was saved. The roof did received some thermal damage. Units were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours.

Engine 18, Engine 23, Tender 3, Tender 7, Tender 18, Medic 7, Medic 13, Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 110 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander.
