19-September-2020 – MVC with Entrapment - “A” Shift Incident # 20-06428 – An adult male was transported to
Colleton Medical Center with multiple traumatic injuries following a two car
MVC in the 400 block of Ivenia Brown Dr in Green Pond Saturday night at
23:30. A Dodge Journey was traveling east bound on Ivenia Brown Dr when a
Ford Ranger pickup truck backed out of a driveway into its path resulting in
heavy damage to both vehicles. The Dodge left the roadway and flipped over
at least once. The driver of the Ford was trapped in his vehicle.
Firefighter-Paramedics stationed at Station # 6 in Green Pond arrived
minutes later and requested a Rescue Unit. They began treating the injured.
Once Rescue 1 arrived, crews used Holmatro Rescue Tools to gain access to
the patient. He was immobilized, then transported to CMC in Fire-Rescue
Medic 6. The driver of the Dodge was able to get out of his vehicle and
advised he was minor injuries. He denied ambulance transportation to the
hospital. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Engine 6, Medic 6, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and Car 112
responded. Battalion Chief Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander. |
