23/September/2020 – Assault with Air Evac – “B” Shift

An adult male was brought to Fire Station # 18 at Bells Crossroads via POV following an assault Wednesday afternoon 23-September at 17:45. The man was severely beaten and received facial trauma and a head injury. Shortly after arrival he became unconscious. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man at the scene and requested the CARE Flight medical helicopter. Medic 7 was also in the area and responded to assist Medic 18. Both crews treated the man, then rapidly transported him to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center. He was flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
