Incident # 20-07887 - A 62 yr old Cottageville man died from injuries received when his 2001 Yukon collided with a Frontend Loader in the 11700 block of Round O Road Monday evening after dark. The Yukon received heavy damage in the crash. The accident was reported at 17:57. Bystanders found the man unresponsive and began performing CPR in the roadway. Fire-Rescue units arrived minutes later and continued the resuscitative efforts. The man was transported emergent to Colleton Medical Center by Fire-Rescue Medic 9 with additional Firefighter-Paramedics on board to assist with his care. The ED Staff continued efforts to revive the man, but he did not survive his injuries. The driver of the Frontend Loader was transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 19 with non-life threatening injuries. He was later released from the hospital. Round O Road in the area of the accident was blocked for four hours until the accident could be cleared. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
