Incident # 20-07915 - An adult female suffered multiple traumatic injuries in a two vehicle MVC on Augusta Hwy (SC Hwy 61) at the intersection of Drain Road Tuesday evening 17-November at 18:29. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction, when the small Mercedes sedan collided with the rear of the semi-truck. On arrival, Medic 7 requested a second Fire-Rescue ambulance and began treating the patients. The truck driver suffered non-life threatening injuries. Augusta Hwy was blocked for an hour until the vehicles could be removed. The female patient was transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston by Medic 7. The male truck driver was transported by Medic 26 to Colleton Medical Center. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Engine 5, Engine 7, Medic 7, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 102 and Car 112 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
