Incident # 20-08274 - An adult male was seriously injured in a single car, high speed MVC on Sizemore Road at Hopewell Lane, Wednesday evening 02-December at 20:04. The west bound Infiniti sedan left the roadway, crossed the ditch and entered the woods flipping over several times before striking several trees. The unrestrained adult male driver received multiple traumatic injuries in the crash. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly extricated him from the vehicle which was about 50 feet into the woods. Crews requested a medical helicopter to respond to the scene. A landing zone was set up in a field off of Silkhope Lane approx. 1/2 mile from the accident scene. The Air Reach helicopter responded and flew the patient to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Engine 7, Engine 26, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Lt. David Sauls served as Incident Commander.
