13/March/2021 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift

Incident # 21-01770 - A Cottageville family was displaced following a fire that destroyed their home Saturday morning 13-March at 08:55. The fire occurred at 154 Amber Ct. It appeared the fire started in a utility building next the home and spread to the single wide mobile home. Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a report of the utility building being on fire. The first arriving units found the approx. 12x12 utility building fully engulfed with the nearby mobile home approximately 65% involved. An adult male was climbing out of a small window when firefighters arrived. Fortunately he was able to escape the flames and was not injured. Firefighters deployed multiple hand lines to the structure and stopped the spread of the flames, but the interior of the mobile home was gutted. The family lost most of their belongings. Fire crews had the fire under control within 15 minutes and were on the scene for two hours performing overhaul. The Red Cross is assisting the family. 

Engine 9, Engine 19, Engine 35, Tender 9, Tender 19, Tender 27, Tender 32, Tender 35, Medic 9, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Captain Dwayne Jacques served as Incident Commander.
