08/May/2021 - Two Vehicle MVC - "A" Shift

Incident # 21-03223 - Four people received multiple traumatic injuries in a two vehicle MVC at the intersection of Robertson Blvd and Rivers Street Saturday afternoon at 12:43. The cars collided in the intersection. Engine 1 arrived to find a small red sedan in the ditch and a dark colored vehicle blocking the road. Due to the number of patients, a second Fire-Rescue ambulance was requested. Firefighter-Paramedics treated all four patients at the scene for a variety of injuries. A 23 yr. old mother and her 17 month old son were both transported emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 1. The mother was taken to the adult center and child to the Pediatric Trauma Center. The two adult female patients in the red vehicle were transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 6. Both suffered traumatic injuries. Additional Firefighter-Paramedics assisted during the transport in both ambulances. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. 

Engine 1, Rescue 1, Medic 1, Medic 6, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
