Incident # 21-04663 - A Springtown man suffered fatal injuries in a single car, high speed MVC on Jefferies Hwy (US Hwy 15) at the intersection of Kelly Bay Rd Sunday morning 04-July at 00:09. The northbound Pontiac G6 failed to negotiate a curve, entered the ditch and flipped over several times before striking a power pole and landing upright. The power pole was broken into several pieces knocking power out in the area for several hours. The restrained driver suffered multiple traumatic injuries and had no signs of life when Fire-Rescue units arrived on the scene. The Coroner's Office was notified and responded. The CARE Flight helicopter responded to a field near the accident location, but was not needed. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Engine 19, Medic 19, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 102, Car 105, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Captain David Goins served as Incident Commander.
