05/July/2021 - Auto vs Pedestrian MVC - "B" Shift

Incident # 21-04719 - A 28 yr old Walterboro man received life threatening injuries after being struck by a car in the 600 block of Padgett Loop near Hampton Street Monday evening 05-July. At 23:29, two bystanders found the man bleeding in the street. Evidence at the scene indicated he may have been struck in the roadway in the westbound lanes and thrown to the curb in the eastbound lanes. The man suffered multiple traumatic injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics treated him at the scene. A medical helicopter was not immediately available, so he was transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 19. Additional Firefighter-Paramedics were onboard to assist with his care. The Walterboro Police Dept is investigating the accident. The vehicle that struck the man fled the scene. Anyone with information regarding the accident are urged to contact the Walterboro Police Dept or the SC Highway Patrol.
