Incident # 21-07350 - An adult male received life threatening injuries in a single vehicle accident in the 8000 block of Ritter Road Monday afternoon 11-October at 17:07. The westbound pickup truck dropped off of the shoulder and over-corrected causing the small truck to spin backwards and strike a tree. A trailer the truck was pulling broke at the tongue and lost the lawnmower it was hauling. The collision is believed to have caused the driver to be ejected from the truck He was found semi-conscious in the ditch. The man was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Fire-Rescue Medic 6. Additional personnel assisted with his care enroute to the Trauma Center. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC.
Engine 6. Medic 6. Battalion 1, Car 105, Car 107 and Car 112 responded. Asst. Chief Marty Stallings served as Incident Commander.
