19/October/2021 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift Incident # 21-07507 - A residential dwelling was destroyed in an early morning fire Tuesday, 19-October. At 00:56, a passing motorist called 9-1-1 to report flames coming out of all the windows of a home located at 9477 Augusta Hwy. (SC Hwy 61) in the Springtown Community. Engine 26 arrived to find the doublewide mobile home approximately 90% involved. Engine 26 used a deck gun to knock down the bulk of the flames, while other Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines to extinguish the remaining fire. Crews worked for about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and remained on scene for three hours performing overhaul. The residents was out of town when the fire occurred. The cause appears to have been electrical in nature and started near the center of the home. No injuries were reported during the incident. Engine 7, Engine 26, Tender 7, Tender 17, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 7, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 107, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
