Incident # 21-07756 - Fire-Rescue units responded to a two vehicle MVC at the intersection of Green Pond Hwy (SC Hwy 303) and Ritter Road, Thursday afternoon 28-October at 16:36. A KIA Spectra and a full sized GMC Pickup truck collided in the intersection, trapping the driver of the Spectra. The female driver suffered non-life threatening minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. Firefighter-Paramedics used Holmatro Pentheon Rescue Tools to remove the driver's door from the Spectra. The patient was extricated and transported to Colleton Medical Center in Fire-Rescue Medic 6 without difficulty. One lane of Green Pond Hwy., and one lane of Ritter Road were down to one lane for about an hour until the vehicles were removed. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Engine 1, Engine 6, Medic 1, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter-EMT Rob Loflin served as Incident Commander.
