14/December/2021 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift

Incident # 21-08927 - A fire alarm and quick response by fire units saved a Locust Street home Tuesday morning 14-December. At 10:46, 9-1-1 received a call from an alarm company reporting an activation at a residence in the 200 block of Locust Street south of Walterboro. Engine 1 arrived minutes later to find smoke in the home. The incident was upgraded to a structure fire adding additional stations to the response. Firefighters made entry into the residence through the front door, finding smoke throughout the one story brick veneer dwelling, but not much heat. Firefighter-Paramedics searched the home and located some clothing smoldering in a bathroom room. An iron had been left on setting the clothes on fire. A cabinet and window frame were damaged and the home suffered minor smoke damage. No one was injured. 

Engine 1, Engine 19, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 6, Battalion 1, Car 105, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Capt. Alex Koontz served as Incident Commander.
