Colleton County Fire-Rescue was honored at the annual EMS Symposium as SC Large EMS System of the Year. The department was recognized for performance, training programs and the Blood Administration Project which resulted in a change in the scope of practice for SC Paramedics. It is an honor to receive the award. Chief McRoy and Battalion Chief (CMO) Joseph Campbell accepted the award on behalf of the department. McRoy noted that Fire-Rescue was not alone in implementing the Blood Administration Project. The award belongs to the Fire-Rescue Staff and he thanked the many people and agencies that assisted during the development and the two years the pilot program ran.
