Incident # 22-02831 - Two people were injured, one seriously, in a two vehicle moderate speed MVC in the 1800 block of Green Pond Hwy (SC Hwy 303) Friday morning 15-April at 08:03. A Ford Ranger Pickup truck and full sized Chevrolet Pickup collided in front of Precious Metals Recycling at 1830 Green Pond Hwy. The adult male driver of the Ranger was trapped in the wreckage. The adult male driver of the Chevrolet received non-life threatening injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics requested a second Fire-Rescue ambulance to respond. The driver of the Ranger was extricated with the use of hand tools. He was treated at the scene, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 1. Medic 19 transported the driver of the Chevrolet to Colleton Medical Center. Sheriff Deputies rerouted traffic on Green Pond Hwy., for 45 minutes until the vehicles were removed. The accident is being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol.
Engine 1, Rescue 1, Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 105, Car 107 and Car 118 responded. Deputy Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
