Incident # 22-02834 - A 21 yr. old man received fatal injuries in a single car MVC in the 10000 block of Jefferies Hwy. Friday morning 15-April at 08:43. The southbound Honda Accord left the roadway at a high rate of speed after clearing a curve. The car hit a driveway culvert, became airborne and struck several trees approximately 12 feet off of the ground. The unrestrained driver was ejected from the car which received heavy damage in the collision. Firefighter-Paramedics found the man to be deceased from multiple traumatic injuries and notified the Coroner's Office, who responded to the scene. One lane of Jefferies Highway was closed for 1-1/2 hours while the SC Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
Engine 5, Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 102 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
