Incident # 22-03665 - A Cottageville woman has been displaced following a fire in her mobile home Friday evening 13-May. At 20:49, a passerby noticed flames coming from the middle of the structure at 31 Gaines Circle north of Cottageville. Engine and Medic 9 arrived minutes later to find the singlewide mobile approximately 50% involved. Crews deployed multiple handlines to the building to combat the fire. The home was filled with contents contributing to a heavy fire load. Crews used a K-12 circular saw to remove a portion of the front wall to remove contents from the burning building. Firefighters were on the scene for four hours performing overhaul. The cause of the fire appears to have been electrical in nature and started in the center of the mobile home. The building suffered substantial damage. No one was at home when the fire occurred. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
