18/August/2022 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift

Incident # 22-06453 - A singlewide mobile home was damaged and a camper used as a residence was destroyed in an afternoon fire that occurred at 1042 Creekside Lane Wednesday 18-August. At 14:29, 9-1-1 was notified of the fire inside the camper. The caller advised flames were visible and the camper was next to another building. Engine 5 arrived to find the camper well involved with flames impending on a single wide mobile home only six feet away. A bystander was using a garden hose in an attempt to slow the fire. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed two handlines, one to the camper and the second to the interior of the mobile home. Flames had already breached the exterior wall on the mobile home and reached the void space over the living area. Flames were coming from the roof of the mobile home with smoke filling the interior. Crews pulled the ceiling inside the master bedroom to extinguish the flames. Most personal belongings in the mobile home were saved, however the home suffered smoke damage throughout. The camper and it's contents were destroyed. The occupant of the camper advised he was awakened by smoke in the camper and discovered fire in the area of the kitchen and breaker box. He was able to safely exit the building and warn the occupants of the mobile home. Both families were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the families. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
