23/August/2022 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift

Incident # 22-06573 - Firefighters saved an Islandton home Tuesday morning 23-August. At 09:47, Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 990 Mears Rd. Engine 15 arrived to find smoke coming from the doublewide mobile home. Crews deployed one handline to the building. The homeowner had already disconnected the power to the residence. Firefighter-Paramedics found the fire in the utility room near the back door. Crews removed the washer and dryer, then removed portions of the wall to extinguish the flames. The floor around the dryer was also damaged. The fire was contained to the utility room. The remainder of the home was saved but received smoke damage. All other personal belongings, except the washer and dryer were saved. The fire originated in the clothes dryer. A female occupant received a minor burn and was treated by Firefighter-Paramedics at the scene. She did not require ambulance transportation to the hospital. 

Engine 15, Engine 18, Tender 15, Tender 13, Tender 18, Brush 15, Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 103, Car 109, Car 112, Car 118 and Car 119 responded. Captain Matthew Owen Williams Jr. served as Incident Commander.
