Incident # 22-06939 - Three people were injured, one severely, in a two vehicle head-on crash in the 7900 block of Charleston Hwy. (SC Hwy 64) Tuesday afternoon 06-September at 17:16. The two vehicles struck a glancing head-on blow causing a SUV pulling a boat to overturn in the ditch. The unrestrained driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and denied ambulance transport to the ED. The male and female restrained occupants of a Ford Fusion suffered injuries and were transported to Colleton Medical Center by Fire-Rescue Medic 19. The female developed complications that required emergency medical interventions. She was airlifted from CMC to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center by the CARE Flight medical helicopter a few hours after arriving at the ED. Charleston Hwy in the area of the accident was down to one lane for several hours until the accident was cleared. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
