Incident # 22-08219 - An adult male was critically injured in a shooting incident in the front parking lot of Baymont Inn and Suites, 1286 Sniders Hwy., Sunday morning 23-October 09:37. Walterboro Police arrived quickly to secure the scene, while Firefighter-Paramedics began treating the patient. The man received a life threatening injury which was treated at the scene. A medical helicopter was placed on standby. Fire-Rescue Medic 1 transported the man emergent, with additional personnel onboard to assist with his care. He was transported to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. The patient was transferred to the Flightcrew, then flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The Walterboro Police Department is investigating the incident.
Medic 1, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
