Incident # 22-08914 - A mid 80s Allendale woman perished in a single vehicle high speed MVC in the 7000 block of Bells Highway (SC Hwy. 64) Thursday afternoon 17-November at 12:49. According to witnesses, the westbound Hyundai Tucson swerved off of the road, then crossed into the eastbound ditch where it struck two driveway culverts and several trees. The car received heavy damage in the collision and the female driver was trapped in the wreckage. Fire-Rescue units arrived minutes later to find the woman had received multiple traumatic injuries and had no signs of life. The Coroner's Office was notified and responded to the scene. Once they had completed their investigation, Firefighter-Paramedics used Holmatro Rescue Tools to extricate the woman. She was transported by the Coroner's Office. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Engine 26, Medic 18, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Rescue 18, Car 107, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
