28/November/2022 - Fall with Air Evac - "A" Shift

Incident # 22-09182 - An adult female received multiple traumatic injuries after falling approximately 15 feet from a deer stand Saturday afternoon 26-November at 17:52. The woman was found on the ground about 1/4 mile into the woods off of the 1900 block of Pine Grove Road. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the woman and immobilized her at the scene. Crews carried her out of the woods to a waiting ambulance. A medical helicopter was requested. CARE Flight landed in a field near Hudson Mill Crossroads. She was transported to the field by Fire-Rescue Medic 18, then transferred to the flight crew. The patient was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. A second woman was also injured after a side-by-side she was in overturned while enroute to the first injured woman. She received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Colleton Medical Center by Fire-Rescue Medic 1.  SCDNR is investigating the incident. 

Engine 1, Medic 1, Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 101, Car 104 and Car 112 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
