21/December/2022 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Incident # 22-09890 - Fire-Rescue responded to a well involved structure fire at 426 Wedgeon Road early Wednesday morning 21-December at 01:40. Engine 19 arrived to find heavy smoke conditions and flames coming from several windows of the singlewide mobile home. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed two handlines to the building and made entry through the front door. It took about 20 minutes to gain control of the fire which was also burning underneath the building. Crews used chainsaws to remove a portion of the front wall and several sections of the floor to reach the flames. Units were on the scene for four hours. The mobile home was vacant. It appeared squatters were using some type of gas heater for heat. The fire started in the area of the heater. There was no power connected to the building.

Engine 19, Engine 24, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 1, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
