Incident # 22-07966 - A three vehicle MVC injured several people, one seriously, Friday 14-Oct at 12:01. The accident occurred on I-95 near the 63 mile marker southbound. Engine 19 and Medic 19 arrived and began treating the injured, An additional Fire-Rescue Ambulance was requested, as well as a medical helicopter was placed on standby. An adult female was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 19 to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. The patient was transferred to the flight crew, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC. Traffic backed up for several miles. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Engine 5, Engine 19, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 102, Car 104 and Car 112 responded. Captain Alex Koontz served as Incident Commander.
