Incident # 23-01000 - An adult male received critical injuries after he was struck by a passenger car in the 500 block of Robertson Blvd. in front of Colleton Medical Center Tuesday evening 07-February at 19:14. The driver of the car was very upset, but was not injured. A young man was on the scene providing care when responders and several hospital employees arrived to treat the man. City firefighters performed CPR as County Firefighter-Paramedics, the CARE Flight medical crew and several nurses and PAs from the hospital all worked to care for the man's multiple injuries. He was transported the short distance to the Hospital's ED where the CMC staff worked diligently to aid him. Sadly he did not survive his injuries. The Walterboro Police Dept is investigating the incident.
Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 111, Car 112, Car 118 and Car 119 responded. WFD also responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
