  15/March/23 - Dog Rescue - "B" Shift

Incident # 23-01902 - Fire-Rescue responded to the pond at Lakeshore Subdivision Wednesday morning 15-March at 11:06, for a report of a dog trapped in the water. Firefighters were directed to an old dock behind 414 Lakeshore Drive. The dock had collapsed into the pond and they found the dog clinging to a portion of the dock. The canine appeared to be trapped in the debris from the collapsed wood, but its head was above the water. Crews were able to manipulate the animal to free it and carried it back to the shore. The animal did not appear to be injured, but was cold. Temperatures were in the upper 30s Wednesday morning. Firefighters dried the dog with towels from one of the Ambulances. The animal then walked away from the scene to join another dog that was watching from a distance.

Engine 19, Medic 19, Medic 13, Dive 1, Marine 1, Battalion 1, C110, C112, and Animal Services responded to the incident. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as the Incident Commander.
