Incident # 23-02921 - Fire-Rescue units responded to a residence in the 5400 block of Jefferies Hwy, (US Hwy 15) Sunday afternoon 23-April. At 17:02, 9-1-1 was notified of a man being burned after a LP tank reportedly exploded. The man received multiple burns over several areas of his body, some of which were third degree. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly treated the man at the scene, then transported him emergent to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center. He was transferred to the CARE Flight crew, then flown to the Burn Center at MUSC in Charleston.
Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Capt. Alex Koontz served as Incident Commander.
